Setting Up Your eBay Store

Sally Milo is one of the partners operating GOing1nce LLC. (the other partner is Kyle Bennett). Sally has been a graphic designer since the days, as she says, “When cut and paste meant using an Exacto knife and rubber cement or melted wax.” From 1990, when she got her first Macintosh and learned how to do the cut and paste thing electronically, and to draw with a mouse, Sally has been creating web graphics. It’s only natural, she says, as she has “been an illustrator since I held my first crayon.”

Open Office Training

I’ve written about OpenOffice.org before — a couple of times! because I really like it. I like that it is quality, powerful, open source, software with all the features of the more expensive commercial packages. I like it because it is not a Microsoft product. And I like it because it is FREE!

But, like any good product, there is probably a significant learning curve to its use. This is often the primary reason for sticking with what you have and never moving on to something that is actually better. And I do think OpenOffice.org is better!

Windows Registry Repair

If you run any version of Microsoft Windows then you have a Windows registry. This is a place, actually a database, on your computer that stores settings and options for your hardware, operating system, most software (programs), and user settings. It often gets cluttered with extraneous entries from programs that were deleted but didn’t get entirely removed, or from failed attempts at installation of new software and, for other reasons, it may contain corrupted information. This can slow down the operation of your computer or, in fact, cause it to fail to operate correctly, even locking up from time to time.

Cookies Of A Different Sort

There seems to be a lot of concern, and even paranoia, over the innocuous cookie, and I don’t mean the kind with sugar and chocolate chips! Wikipedia, the online free encyclopedia, defines this kind of cookie as follows:

In computing, a cookie (also tracking cookie, browser cookie, and HTTP cookie) is a small piece of text stored on a user’s computer by a web browser. A cookie consists of one or more name-value pairs containing bits of information such as user preferences, shopping cart contents, the identifier for a server-based session, or other data used by websites.
